A Genealogy Journey
A collection of family histories that make up my personal ancestry and that of many other relatives, both local and far reaching.
The creation of this website was inspired by the quaint stories of individual ancestors and their families. Stories that reveal snippets of significant life events, that over again have ignited my curiosity, captured my imagination and solidified my dedication to Genealogy.
My journey into family history began early in life, inspired by stories of my great grandfather and his passion for invention. I was captivated by stories of relatives during wartime and the mystery surrounding unfamiliar great aunts and uncles. As the years passed and online resources became more accessible, I took a deeper interest in my Irish roots and it wasn’t long before I was hooked. Two decades have passed since those first brick walls and my enthusiasm for a family history project hasn’t waned. Fast forward to 2020 and the Covid 19 lockdown’s and I had all the time in the world to get this website started, for the benefit of having all my research in one place, but also for the purpose of connecting with other relatives who are as curious as me to know more about our roots.
As a result of emigration to England you will find Irish families and in contrast, emigration links these families to Canada, the USA and beyond.
My maternal family roots are found in rural Lancashire, whilst my paternal family tree is rooted in Suffolk and Ireland, with more recent generations in Manchester and Lancashire.
