- John Taylor, Son of Henry + father of the above D. 22.07.1855 aged 69 years
- Mary Taylor, wife of above D. 03.04.1861 aged 70 years
I visited St Andrews of Longton in January 2024 hoping to find the gravestones of several Taylor relatives. I was pleased to come across my 4x gt grandparents resting place within a few minutes as it was conveniently located along the entrance path to the church. Unfortunately, I wasn’t as successful locating other members of the Taylor family despite confirmation that they were buried here from parish registers. There was a number of headstones that had fallen, were inaccessible due to breakage, or gravestones that were simply unreadable due to the passing of time offering a possible explanation for my lack of luck. Lancashire Archives holds the ‘Transcript of monumental inscriptions 1817-1976’ for St Andrews so I will seek that out whilst on a research trip at some point and update this page with any findings.
